CCCS is good and also a place I worked in years, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services. What do these two companies, is contact with the creditor to reduce the interest rate, negotiate, and how much you pay them. Ex-If you owe $ 10,000 to three different credit cards interest can be reduced to 1% to 8% on most major credit cards (this is 10 years ago mind you). Then take the monthly payments to the consultation and this in turn pay your creditors. You can do it yourself even if you are good at negotiations, but it’s worth the small fee per month to have them deal with the headache. Note, however, if you have student loans they can not help with the interest.

I only recommend Consumer Credit Counseling Service. You are serious, non-profit and nationwide. Below is a link to the CCCS office in Atlanta, but you can find one near you.
